I don't find it interesting, I would think that most people in South Africa with ADSL are more open to the idea of prophecies etc than not.

I spoke to a friend of mine that was spending a couple of nights in jhb for business.
Asked her how it was in Jozi and if she can hear the bullets flying past her. All in jest.
The following day she was caught in a gunfight at a mall between security guards and hijackers.

Was it a vision? No.
The chances of it happening in Jozi is rather high and it was a question/statement from my point of reference using the influence I have - media, friends and family.

Lancelot will obviously disagree and take exception to that true statement.

Is it not possible for you guys to approach this whole thing with a bit of investigative method? You have been presented with the hypothesis that there was a Boer who had visions of the future, of which some were recorded and which some are believed to have been fulfilled .

Of course this requires an open mind and no preconceived ideas that would influence you either way. You have been presented with the evidence, you investigate it and come to a probable conclusion:

1) No evidence to suggest he was a seer and/or that his prophecies are real and valid
2) Partial evidence or fantastic coincidences to support.
3) Overwhelming evidence of support.

If your conclusion is 1) is it really necessary to be emotional and unscientific by calling him dellusional, a BD crackpot etc? Cant you just say you dont believe and if necessary provide reasons why without all the emotive language?

Yes, he did not foresee apartheid as apartheid came naturally to him. Also after the Anglo-Boer war, the English perpetuated apartheid. At the time no Eurporean saw anything wrong or objected to apartheid or racial segregation.
Siener did foresee the republic and its subsequent handing over to a Black government. What keeps our hopes up is the fact that he foresaw that the Afrikaners will take the country back and that we will restore the Boere republics. ( Also a little more territory, up to the Sudan)

I am not right wing, AWB, herrenvolk or Broederbond. (You forgot about the Afrikanerbond) I am not Afrikanerbond either.

If you are a Christian, you will know that prophets do occur in the Bible.
Some other religions also believe in the prophet Muhammad. Prophecy do have significance to religious people.
