SIERRA On-Line Documentary

I have fond memories from Sierra, Police Quest was my favorite. Never got into space quest or kings quest that much but did play them.

As attached to the Sierra classics as I am, LucasArts is more suited to who I am.
The Sierra stuff didn't age nearly as well as LucasArts, probably because of their cartoony style.

It depends though. I hardly see these games in their pixelised glory. Both publishers (and developers) produced awesome and memorable games, and it is sad that we don’t see these anymore on an A-grade scale. Anyone who knows how my Steam/GOG library looks like will know that there isn’t a point & click adventure that I don’t own or haven’t wishlisted :p

Just to add, the stories weren't always good and some today deem these stories as inappropriate, but what Sierra and LucasArts both got right was to have their target market associate with their stories. People were intrigued curious and adventures. There are many Roger Wilco's out there ;)

I was typing in use prophylactic before I even knew what it was.
Some of their other games like Conquests of the Longbow were also really good. They also published other things like Red Baron, Rise of the Dragon, Castle of Dr. Brain etc. that I really enjoyed.

Anyone play the new Kings Quest?

It is good, better than the last two classics, well, the last one isn't exactly what should be called a classic. I liked them all, I never quite understood the criticism towards King's Quest VII.

SpaceVenture is coming month-end or so the backers believe. I still hope that it will be a worthy spiritual successor to Space Quest, but since the development was damned with unexpected events and now with Scott Murphy being apologetic and the development team generally ignoring their backers it may not turn out to be a Two Guys classic.

8 Years...

Hero-U which is a indirect spiritual successor to Quest for Glory is amazeballs. Excellent work went into that title, and it is getting a complete overhaul soon.

I still want to know how Quest for Glory got named Hero's Quest here by many. It is sacrilege in the die-hard Sierra forums.
i think the first game was actually called heroes quest, had to change the name due to some copy right( trademark for a board game) , so was changed to quest for glory,

I just read about it, never knew.

I liked Indiana Jones & Monkey Island from LucasArts, Future Wars & Operation Stealth from Delphine Software

That bedroom upstairs

That’s just how I remember it I guess, have yet to progress to die hard status even after all these years.
That die-hard status is currently hit with outrage. Long story short, but how can I put it, the current circumstances isn't sitting well with the old games. People and some prior Sierra developers hitting out at the stereotypes...

Favourite part of SQ4, especially if you had the voice pack. "You lick the sewer, it tastes strangely like blood. Wait a minute, that is blood, you shredded your tounge! Your momma should have warned you about licking strange places." Or if you click the hand button on your self "Hey! This is a family game!"
