Signal Booster - Cellphone Reception

I have checked both vodacom and mtn show full coverage for the area, but sometimes it only shows SOS and maybe some EDGE if lucky.
What can be done about improving signal ?
Must i log a complaint with the SP's ??

I have seen some signal repeaters that you could install, they fit nicely into your ceiling and looks pretty too. You have to import them though, i will try find a link for you.

I have heard of some 3g booster that work like outside aerials and have also seen an amplifier advertised at AutoZone

Repeaters are illegal, unless are installed by the network provider.

Passive repeaters are not illegal but they are not terribly efficient.

3G/UMTS repeaters (powered) cause mayhem if installed in towns. If you are located on a remote farm, the networks usually turn a blind eye as you'd be saving them money! Just don't try using one in a built up area or you may end up losing the unit!!

A simple USB extension cable normally does the trick once the dongle is positioned in the optimal position.

my sister phoned mtn, they came and install some kind of booster. works well.
but you must give them a plan, eg, 20 people got this problem, they will make more money, etc,etc,etc.
