Signal booster for Walka?

I bought the Walka 7 last week and it is amazing, but the signal seems to come and go in some areas.

I have seen a few of the "cantennas" used to directionally boost WiFi signals. I assume it is possible to do the same thing for dvb-h, but it would need to be smaller - the Walka would still need to balance and its antenna is toothpick-thin.

Has any of you tried it, or have any experience building these boosters for WiFi? Do you think it's doable?

Sorry I can't help you with your queries but I just wanted to find out from somebody with personal experience, how is the quality on the walka 7?

This weekend I put it on a table and watched the weekend's Currie Cup semi-finals with a buddy. I could follow the game just fine and check the score without trouble. If we had the original Walka, we would not be able to follow the game at all - its screen is smaller than my cellphone! The Walka 7 is comparable in size with my Kindle and I think that's great.

I think people mostly complain about the resolution because they were spoilt by 300 dpi cellphones and 1080p TV sets. This doesn't compare well at all, but your dish, PVR and 50" TV doesn't compare well when it comes to portability either. The Walka is great for when you're not near a TV (camping, school sports, whatever) and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. For that, the resolution is just fine.

Went to Multichoice to buy one for the SO. Ended up with the smaller Walka due to the low quality on the 7 " equivelent. The resolution on both is the same (320x240 if I'm not mistaken) but stretched out on the 7 " which gives a rather ugly pixelation effect.

I was watching the same channel on both side by side and I'll rather stick with the smaller one. Like watching VCD on a 100 " HDTV.

I don't think the resolution will bother you when you're not specifically paying attention to it, but I suppose different people prioritize different things.

Any insights on my original question about the signal boost?
