Ullo :)

Quick question: in order to sign an MTN contract, what exactly does one need? From what I understand it's 3 months' bank statements, as well as one's latest salary slip. Is this correct, or has that changed?

How long do MTN take to approve contracts these days. Last time I asked they said a week.

ID, 3 months bank statements and you most recent pay slip. If you're taking a new sim then tell them you already have a number and get a 50c MTN starter pack, you will save R200 this way.

Approval took about 2 days when I applied for a new contract. Can't see that aproval would take longer that 3-4 days for a new contract permitting everythingelse is in order, but would be best to get hold of them direct. Call 083123DOOR. That's their direct shop.

Thanks all :)

I actually ask as I'm about to start working after a gap year, and was wondering whether they'll want to see whether I've been working for at least three months, or whether a single pay slip will suffice.

And thanks for the tip :) I'll definitely do that.

im not sure if it its the same as when i first got my contract with flip that was years ago, i used my first payslip and they were fine with it.

if you are considering the iphone, their price on contract is way better value then Vodacom, and the new mtn contracts that are based on rand value realy works out cheaper, free minutes dont make sence when you working with data and sms more, when i renewd i actualy could take out a chepaer package and still never pay more then the basic contract cost.
