Just saw the SIII advertised at Autopage on the CellC Straightup 200 for R449x24.
The same deal directly from CellC costs R579x24.

I figure either a mistake or a good deal. Went ahead and signed up, vetted OK.. getting the phone on Thursday apparently.

Score??:wtf:

Duly considered, but they are still around after many, many years, I bet there are many more happy clients than unhappy. Besides, if you just typed that message via an ADSL line maybe you should search the forum for 'problems with Telkom"

just saying

Last I heard very few people that make the mistake of signing resign after 24 months....

Aye, I hear ya, and that's pretty much the reason i'm cancelling my Vodacom contract. We shall see I guess. Hopefully they aren't far worse than I know the operators can be themselves. I haven't actually signed my life away yet so let's see. I'll read more opinions here and make a final decision.

and it's still a pretty good deal if you consider what the other operators including CellC themselves are peddling.

Judging from the hellopeter complaints on Autopage, as long as you stick to the stock standard contract issued to you (and make sure you get a copy), and don't request anything else be added or removed to your contract you would be ok.

But remember, their call centre is not toll free and you will be billed when you call them.

Saw the S3 at Cell C yesterday, was the 16Gig version, Vodascum and MTN###### both have the 32Gig versions, might be worth considering.

Noted, and thanks. I'll certainly keep that in mind. At least I have 200 anytime minutes and 99c to anywhere, anytime. The Voda/MTN contracts with the same phone just can not compare IMHO even though they are 'cheaper' monthly. Voda for instance is Business Call (higher rates than 99c afaik), 20!!!! free min and 250mb, on per minute as well.
I am running around with 2Gb in a pocketable 3G router so i doubt I'll have to add data to the contract, so it should stay box standard.
Phone arrives tomorrow. :)

Honestly, I'm really not concerned that it's a 16Gb. I doubt very much that I'll even use that capacity to it's fullest and if I do I can always add a 64Gb memcard at a later stage. Really is ample storage for my kind of usage.

That's not a bad deal. Chuck the sim and get on a month to month straight up 100.

I need the 200 free minutes (and the 200mb helps too) and adding the straightup 200 to that R279 still makes it more expensive than the Autopage deal. Plus the activation costs and double billing. No thanks.

I can give you one piece of advice. Stay away from re-sellers like autopage and nashua. When there is a problem on your account they blame the service provider and the service provider blames them. I honestly dont know why they bother with these re-sellers. Its obvious they dont want to do business with them.

Last note: STAY AWAY FROM AUTOPAGE. No matter how good the deal is its not worth it. Really, its not.

Yup, I also got upset and moved away from Autopage.

If you dont have billing problems, they like to call you, and even if you say you dont want free music bs, they still add it to your account, and then its a mess getting it removed and the charges reversed. Incredibly annoying.

Have fun with your new toy and Autopage.

We have a bunch of contracts through Autopage. Some of them now 12 years old. No real problems to speak of. By this time I have a dedicated person that I contact for upgrades at their HO and I usually get mega discounts off the pay-ins for certain phones.

They are really not that bad.

For example, this poor person
A few months ago, a consultant from Altech autopage called me to offer me some new services from Altech Autopage. These included "mymusic", "mysecurity" and balance notification. I clearly instructed her that i did NOT want any of these additional services as I did not need them. Nevertheless, when I got my following month bill I noticed that I had been charged for these.

That is exactly what happened to me!

And they do that with their long standing clients, which is usually the reason for that phone call. After the 2nd time I learned my lesson, and that is when I went the extra mile to cancel my account early before the contract period was over.

On the plus side, I am now saving money every month, as well as the phone I wanted was much cheaper from 8ta with their May specials.

I got the S3 on that special from Pick n Pay today.

Honestly thought it would be a 16GB version. Turns out it is the 32GB one. Killer price that!
