Hey guys

Trying to finish up a new build and iv noticed we are SERIOUSLY lacking in the decent fan department here in S.A

Im looking at hooking up some Gentle Typhoons fans, is anyone importing any goods from a pc store any time soon? Willing to split shipping costs etc

Go check out the carbonite forums, there is a guy on there (Orihalcon) who regularly imports from performancepcs. Good choice on the GTs :D

My brother has them on is watercooled rig, static pressure and silence of them are amazing. thanks for info :D

There is another option you could consider.

Either a fan with
Automatic speed control
Manual control speed contol
PWN

If you for instance install a manual three speed fan you can load a PC diagnostics program and monitor your hard drive, GPU, Memory and CPU temperature and see whether cooling is adequate at that revs/min. (Your new motherboard might have PC diagnostic software.)

I personally consider Nexus Real Silent Case fans the best. As does SilentPCReview and they are available from both Sybaritic and Cyberdyne System Pty Ltd. @ ~R75ea.

I made my own connector using a resistor that gave me 6.95 volt (the fan requires at least 7v). It is for all intents and purposes, silent.

They aren't PWM and the PWM kind of those fans are less silent, so IMHO PWM is a great concept but in theory the best fans are still the non-PWM kind.
