Hey guys,

Great forum, found lotsa useful info on it. Had issues with my modem(E220) not being detected on vista and windows 7 but got that sorted out after reading a few threads on the forum.

Now my E220 has the latest firmware and I've got the newest mobile connect-9.4 and Huawei Mobile Connect.

Now everytime I load up either of these software packages to connect I get this msg either saying something like "No SIM detected, please insert SIM" from the vodafone connect software and a msg from the Huawei Mobile Connect saying "USIM/SIM does not exist or unavailable". I don't have both installed at the same time btw.

I've used this same sim on the E272 modem and it worked fine. Cheers Thanks!

Have you tested a different SIM in the E220?

PS. Welcome to My Broadband.

Yeah tried that too. Get the same irritating msg. You guys think this modem is broken or something? Tested on XP btw, asks me to insert a sim as well.

Thanx cool forum, nice IT and programming section too :)

If it's still under warranty take it to a Vodacare and have them test it.
