Hi All

I've got a small web server currently running on a wifi connection.
I need to remove the wifi and add a Sim Card for connectivity, problem is how would I access the server.
Is it possible to get a static IP sim card.

What are my options

Thanks

Worked with Telkom Mobile and DDNS as proof of concept although I did not run it for hours to test. I don't know what happens to the IP address when roaming on MTN for example.

Technically it shouldn't matter. When roaming you are getting the same address from Telkom IP space. Your traffic bypass MTN routers, as MTN RNC computer open a tunnel directly to the Telkom servers. It should be transparrent, but devil is in details of course.

If you use Axxess or Afrihost APNs I can assure you that those APNs are unrestricted and I recommend them over other providers.

Mikrotik rb951, has a firewall, usb for 3g connections, dhcp and much more since its router OS. Nice thing is that you get a free dns name.
