Sim card suspended?

So I've been using my CellC sim for data (Whatsapp, mobi sites, etc) for a few months now, until last Friday. I bought that 3GB special (valid for 365 days).
I inquired at local CellC shop and I was told it was due to CellC putting more towers for more coverage and all.
I thought it was bs since my 3g signal is strong on my phone and all that. I logged on their site from work and couldn't request a password since it couldn't login.

Gave them a call and I was told my sim has been suspended since I haven't recharged airtime for months (though I bought that 3gb valid for 1 year).
If indeed my sim is suspended, should I receive calls? I can receive calls and sms's.

What could be the problem? I just got some yesterday's whatsapp messages, but I'm 99.999% offline, though my 3g signal shows it's pretty good.

EDIT: just tried to call my other number (no airtime) and Trevor told me my account has become dormant (but any remaining airtime has been stored). I need to recharge to activate my service.

This is ridiculous, but just recharge with the smallest airtime voucher you can buy.

Do this soon though, I had a similar situation with a SIM card I used for testing. I bought a R5 voucher, but didn't load it straight away, I thought I'd load it next time I wanted to do some tests. When I actually wanted to use it, I found the SIM had been completely deactivated (it wouldn't even register on the network) and I had lost about R30 airtime. :crying:

Just asked someone to get me R5 airtime and everything seems ok.:p

BS. Their system should keep the number alive for the duration of any bundles.

Stupid MNO's and SIM expiry...

We concerned that the same problem might occur in the near future rather PM us the cellc number in question so that we fix the problem permanently.
