Sim locked Lte modem

Hi, I bought a used modem but its locked with Vodacom which i only saw when I got home. Is there a way to unlock it? My previous zte was open to all networks

isnt there some way with MTN, and them checking if its on their list,
I mean Ive seen a menu in *136# that says network unlock,
