Hey all. Vodacom 3g contract has just expired and I'd like to use my Huawei K3770 modem on the 10gb contract I've just taken up. 8ta software from the website doesn't seem to work with this modem. I re-installed the latest software from Vodacom's site but am getting the following error:

"SIM not recognised.
You will need to create mobile connection settings for this SIM in the 'Connections' view."

Have tried something but am no pro at this. Any ideas??

Running Lion on a Macbook Pro.

Does the sim work in a phone ?

I can't make calls, my galaxy s2 says "Network Busy". I can send and receive sms's though. I also received one with my 8ta number saying the package has been activated.

EDIT: doh, sorry, a bit aloof this evening. Yes internet is working fine on my phone

UPDATE: It seems Vodafone being the bastids they are have locked the software and/or firmware or something along those lines. Here is a workable solution for mac users: Huawei Mobile Partner. Choose the last link. It's supposedly only for Snow Leopard but seems to work fine on Lion.
