Sim only order - RAIN LTE

:(

That's really not good at all. Did you see the signal level drop at all?

No. Bars stay the same.

And when I call your help desk my calls either get cut when I call or I stay on hold for 15min(then I end the call)

I tried speaking to your online chats today. When I started the chat your various options were green. When I start the chat it goes to the option to send an email. So I tried all the options.
Eventually I went back to mobile data and actually sent the email.

That was around lunch time today. I am still waiting for a call.

I still want to know why my Uploads are higher than my Down loads.

Normally it is the other way around...

Very compressed so far. Afri-peeps if I upgrade before the end of November, is the double deal for a year. Or do I need to take a new package ?

If you have Double Data at the moment, you will continue to receive Double Dater after you have upgraded or downgraded your package?

My mind is still boggled as to why I get such nice upload speeds BUT the DLs are slower.

Normally ULs are slower than DLs on mobile data.

At 23 I don't think the ping is a problem nor the cause...

Tried forcing 2600Mhz?
My download speeds literally doubled to approx 85Mbps when doing this. Upload took a knock though.

1800, 2600, auto

It all seems to offer results that look the same with the DL being lower than the UL.
And DLs have always been below 20. Typically below 15.

There's a screen shot here where my DLs were 0.5 and the UL much higher.

I need DLs to be good.
There is no point in having great uploads if I am not consistantly uploading stuff.

So AfriGenie, if I order the simcard only option and get 3 months free internet, and cancel after three months, I would actually get three months for free?

Uhm no.

Then they bill you.
Read the T's and C's.

If I remember correctly it goes something like:
First 3 months free BUT you must stay with them for 6 months else if you leave before you have to pay RXXX.

Also... Why did you not apply yesterday? Yesterday you would have gotten double data until end Nov 2018. Now if you take 55GB that is all you get.
(unless AH/RAIN changed that late yesterday or today)

No if you cancel before 6 months you have to pay R999 if I remember correctly.

Ah thanks Slow Internet. I thought you only pay the R999 if you cancel to cover the costs of the modem, meaning it won't apply to the sim only deal. It does apply though.

I already have a double data package thanks Venomous. I did read the Ts and Cs, but I must have missed this one.

If you took the modem it will cost more than that.

My wonderful speed test earlier today...

That's not looking good at all. :( Are you still getting those speeds throughout the day?

Since then I've had to restart the router twice as the connection light went red. Red meaning there is no data connection.

See the attached.

What I would REALLY like to know is why the UL are normally sooo much better than the DL speed (there are a few exceptions where the UL drops to zero)

I clicked on it three times and it didn't send me to other posters posts.
It sent me to three different websites with presentation videos of people asking for investment into their dodgy schemes.
But could be a problem on my side.
Will scan my computer for malware tonight.

BWAHAHAHAHA
Your machine is pwned.
Shouldn't laugh though. Let us know how that removal goes.

Could you please run another test on a computer connected over LAN? Would love to see the difference between that and your mobile test. :)
