Last night I run of out 8ta and figure since I've spent R5,000 on Vodacom GPRS over the past few months, I may as well get 1 or 2MB.

Turns out my SIM doesn't work anymore (or the signal was zero at that point)

Now I need to spend more cash to get a SIM swap :/ Please tell me they don't need to RICA me again? I've just moved andproof of residence is difficult to obtain

If you do a SIM swap you would not need to RICA again due to the fact that the RICA is to the cell number.

I'm afraid what VD said might not be entirely true. (At least it might not be executed as such)

When my phone was stolen and I performed a sim-swap I had to drive all the way home to go and get the RICA documents and I was RICAd again. I was quite pissed off at the time, considering my phone was just stolen and I had RICAd a few weeks earlier. I am with Vodacom.

I'll phone them quick and report back ...

EDIT : Vodashop Fourways confirmed only the ID and R63.00 - which is good because it's the residential address I have an issue with

Lucky you, looks like its one of those cases were it all depends on which customer consultant you catch on the day.
