Need to make an simply, easy website.

Basically just a landing page with some information. Cheapest place to host? Webdesign software? Templates? Will be done from a Windows PC.

If someone can point me in the right direction it would be great.

Thanks

serv.co.za or any hosting company with cpanel.

Install WordPress from admin screen.

Edit homepage text

Or create a repository for git.io and push and index.html page to it

I've got a website that compares the pricing of South African hosting providers. It gets updated every two months:
http://hostingweb.co.za

Then I'd probably go with WordPress as it is easy to use and there are tons of themes that you can either get for free or pay for a premium theme.

I remember this.

Until you find out about another vulnerability in Wordpress and have to upgrade you entire site every few months.

If you just need a single page the hastles of a major framework far outweigh the benefits imo.

I'd go with Notepad++ and paint.net.

You can set wordpress to update automatically.

nah, wordpress is lightweight enough of a framework with many professional themes. It will take you days/months to create an equivalent site manualy that will look good across all browsers/devices.

It's not like you pay extra for a mysql db and php, so why not use it?

Got the domain. Install wp. Looking through the themes. They all seem to be for blogs. Need a theme that's more just a landing page with info.
