i'm looking for a very basic music/mp3 editor as the title suggests...

...i have audacity, which i've seen a lot of ppl recommend, but it's too complex and probably has way, way more functionality that i am after.

i basically want to chop songs, maybe like the 1st 20s of song, then the last 1min

any suggestions please

I've always used Sony Soundforge - Has even more features than audacity but much easier to use.

I prefer audacity. Its easy to use (for me anyway) and its opensource! OPENSOURCE ALL THE WAY

Audacity is hard to use??? Since when? cut song > save as > paste > copy etc.

I don't understand how it's hard just to chop pieces out of songs etc. Save as mp3 as well. I'm a complete no0b and I find it VERY easy.

Um no that's not entirely true. I have used Audacity for years and take it for granted, but I did experience difficulties trying to get a non-technical person to use it -- the range of options can be baffling. So while it really is the best tool for this job, it's not a doddle.

I agree 100%. One of the easiest software packages out there for simple audio editing.

Why you wanna do audio editing if you know nothing about it? Do some research before doing a project. Its like a child of 7 years (of normal intelligence) skipping primary & high school and going straight to university.
