Please have a look at this simpler, easier to use, page to check your usage.

www.vodacom4me.co.za/balances

The guys did this after all the complaints and suggestions on making it easier to navigate and download.

Please note, this is not yet a production page. We would first like to get your feedback and comments. So it's a forum exclusive! Customer Care won't know about this and it's not been communicated to anyone outside the forum.

So, feedback please. (As if I have to ask :) )

Very nice voda3g, I used 17 kByte (send and receive) to log in and check my balance. Much better than before! :)

I want to add a usage display to my dialer. I tried my tried and tested VB code but I'm not getting it to work. Any chance of a URL with parameters as well as the form? Or could you ask your programmers what the trick with posting to it is ... or which page should I be posting to.

VB:

Inet1.Execute sURL, "POST", sFormData, "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded"

Tried posting to:

http://www.vodacom4me.co.za/vodacom4me-personal/login.do
http://www.vodacom4me.co.za/vodacom4me-personal/jsp/general/landingPages/login.do
http://www.vodacom4me.co.za/vodacom4me-personal/balances.do?operation=light
http://www.vodacom4me.co.za/vodacom4me-personal/jsp/general/landingPages/balancesLogin.jsp#

With form data:

V_FORWARD_TO=balances.do?operation=light&V_AUTHENTICATION_ERROR=/jsp/general/landingPages/balancesLogin.jsp?wrongPassword=true&V_LOGIN_NAME=082xxxxxxx&V_PASSWORD=??????
V_LOGIN_NAME=082xxxxxxx&V_PASSWORD=??????

What will probably work better is the original request as posted by ic, a XML-based page where you can easily extract your data.

But I'll follow up on your request, unless someone else on the forum can answer.....

Awesome. Thanks v3g. I don't use anything on v4me other than balances so this works really well for me. :)

A huge improvement, thanks! I'd also prefer mb over kb though.

Personally I think there should be a way of selecting the data measurement units, so maybe a drop-down list [with kB, MB and GB], that allows you to change from the default - MB since data is charged per MB, but give the option of changing the default data measurement unit and store the preference in a cookie [if enabled in the browser].

<added>Reality check - it sounds like everyone else sees more on the simple Balances page than what I'm seeing on mine...</added>

When my 3g 500M bundle runs out, the account balances shown on vodacom4me stops counting at 512000k bytes. Is it possible to see the amount that I have exceeded the bundle by (online)? Is it possible to show the total even if it has exceeded the bundle? It would be useful for keeping an eye on costs.

Unfortunately I cannot get it working in Opera Mini on JasJar :(

Neither the Help nor Home links appear to do anything useful...

But it does work in Firefox 2.0 on my desktop PC...:)

"Page can not be displayed" ........ is it down or is it being updated ?

Great idea though, would love to see it.

I'm getting "We are currently experiencing problems accessing your account information.

Please try again later." message. Can still access balance from std v4me site.

Now I'm getting:

ERROR 400: Bad request

The request for the selected URL has been made but the server is not configured or capable of responding to it. Please contact Vodacom Customer Care regarding this problem.

hmmm...
