Also been meaning to dig deeper into it. It's an amazing digital tool that's easy to get lost in just making stuff. The 2.8 beta changes are nice, especially the viewport navigation and a bit less reliance on knowing so many hotkeys - can now see more options on screen via menu's.

So I downloaded Sketchup and found a few tutorials to go through with my son. Then some visitors arrived who overstayed their welcome. Needless to say, we were unable to accomplish anything. So we will try over the next few evenings. Fortunately the assignment is only due in April so at least we have some time.
+10 Fatherhood points to even be considering tackling this anytime but the night before it's due. +5 Points for researching how to go about it. -5 points for allowing social conventions to get in the way of fatherly duty. +2 Points for being a good host. +5 Points for still intending to do it before night before it's due. +2 Points for not simply finding something appropriate in the internet and submitting it as your son's effort.
