Single professionals:

So the other day i saw an interesting thing about how professionals for example a doctor will search out a doctors for a live partners . do you think its true or not???????????????????????? i am not sure its completely true. for example you see docs with a attractive secretary or something like that. or is that just lust , and can he/she be happy in that situation?

being in a professional field myself i find myself more attracted to somebody who's in a professional/ area and has a higher level of education.

or is this a intellectual thing which i think it is?

If so we should start a thread for professionals seeking professionals.

What?

I understand what you are saying towards the end - but, um, doc search out doc for live partners?

So - paraphrased - a doctor would search for another doctor as his/her partner?

no man its an example: a doctor will search out a doctor for Marriage

I do think that being on similar intellectual levels would factor into any successful relationship. So yes, perhaps professionals would seek out other professionals as partners.

Or could be that its just easier to meet other professionals in the similar profession :)

So what type of partner are you looking for? I would take a stab at it and say it's not a too professional partner....the "live partners" gave it away:-P Should be "Life Partners", unless you maybe meant someone to share an abode with, but even there "live partners" would be wrong.

its because its easier to "meet" people within your field thus purely from a numbers point of view if you spend more time/associate more with a certain group of people, you're more likely to end up with them as a "live" partner

I know & have met a number of doctor couples. They spend a lot of time together, have common interests, etc.

Also know a few chartered accountant couples, similar reasons.

He's clearly not a professional , lol!

+1 ;-)

No way! There's no way that I'd marry an engineer!
1) According to engineering tradition there are no female engineers. Females only exist in chemical engineering, but they work for companies like BP...
2) Engineers are weird, insane and proud of it. Do you want to marry someone like that?
3) Highly paid engineers are a myth.
4) You're speaking about engineers here. Shoe-staring dating might not lead to marriage.

More serious:
Depends purely on the other person. But yes, in your own direction of expertise you might find people with interest more similar to your own. Also, you develop a certain way of thinking in a profession. If she thinks in the same way it might help.

When were you at varsity, in the seventies ?

A very large percentage of engineering students are female nowadays.

As to how cool they are, well I couldn't tell. But have seen a few hawt female engineers !

^^ Studying engineering is still seen as a sex-change, if said student was female at the start of the course. :-P Graduated about four years ago.

And yeah, I've seen very good looking female engineers - but don't go and ruin the myth!

I know a CA engaged to a plumber, and the one lady in our legal department is dating a mechanic :o

It might sound snobbish, but I did not think these people would be compatible :erm:

I know quite a few too. The reason, the same for any profession, is very obvious and simple:

Or could be that its just easier to meet other professionals in the similar profession :)
