Sinotech 47" R7999 Makro

LCD's get surprisingly hot and can use a pretty chunk of electricity too, but the best bet is to eyeball the different screens as at the end of the day it will be you watching it.

Everything gets hot but plasmas get really hot. So hot that it can be used as a conventional heater :D
LCD uses 70% less electricity than a conventional CRT or plasma. Not sure to which that applies but plasma and CRT uses the most electricity.
 
I've had the 42" Sinotec for well over a year.. and have had ZERO issues with it...

Definitely one of the best bang for buck screens out there.
 
Ok, went to game yesterday and checked out the plasmas- samsung, LG; LCD's- Samsung, LG, Sinotec, Logik, LED- Samsung

The picture on the Samsung LCD looked to be the best but probably cos it was setup with HDMI cables I assume- the salesman wasn't too clued up.
We are leaning towards an LED for these reasons:
-Slimmest of them all
-Picture clarity is very good with HD content
-Newest technology.

We will apreciate memeber's opinions for and against our pending decision.

Dude, go back and make sure those plasmas were setup correctly. The 50" Samsung plasma for R9999 will be the best, especially for TV and DVDs.
 
Had the Sinotech for almost a year now and zero problems so far.The dual scart inputs comes in handy if you want to connect both Top Tv and DSTV simultaneosly ,as well as extend both to another tv.
Probably the biggest benefit comes in the form of blu-ray movies which look exceptional on the lcd.

However in hindsight i should have gone for a Sammy 50'' for the following reasons:
1.same price,bigger screen
2.Watch mostly normal programmes, which looks better on a plasma
3.Burn in is no longer such a issue
4.Almost same power consumption as an lcd as long as you dont watch to many movies with "whites'' as the primary colour.
5.I bought my lcd on the misinformation that plasmas will be discontinued in the near future which would completely negate the thought of buying one.Sony hasalready made this move.
6.The Sinotech has no resale value if you looking to upgrade, as I paid K10 for mine at that time.You'll get a better buyer response with the Sammy.
 
Thats a good buy and use the remainder of the money to get a receiver amp to hook up the HDMI.
 
I think it is worth it I bought the 42" about two years ago .I use it for dstv hd and gaming works well for the price
but I would go for a maybe smaller 40" samsung I think it is around the same price
