That is just how people are. I personally think we give ourselves too much credit. We are the most barbaric animals on the planet.

With that said, Gene therapy is the key. Once we figure out how to manipulate certain genes the way we want to. We can eliminate those which have a tendency to lead to rape(yes it's all about genes people).

I don't agree but regardless of one's genes, one always has a choice.
"My bad genes made me do it" isn't a valid excuse.

Read Richard Dawkins "The Selfish Gene"

It has an entire section dedicated to why people rape lol, it's kinda insane but it makes more sense than any other explanation right now.

Peoples choices are not as black and white as YES OR NO, they are all affected by major things like the environment they are in etc. If we don't tackle things like this, we will always have rape stories here and there which I think is not acceptable. We have to go to the core and eliminate it from the core and with Gene Therapy(google it) it is more than possible.

I have to say that normally I can register and process these things that happen in SA without too much of negativity creeping in but this one is really getting to me. Really feel like saying "Bugger this"and walking away from my country. Abandon this place to the pigs that seem to be everywhere these days.

Ahh fsk it, I need a drink and its only 10:30 in the morn!

It's only speculation (as is most evolutionary psychology) - there is no real supporting evidence (as in known genetic variation in the traits associated with rape).

How will staying stop crime?
Trying to vote the ANC out of power and paying more in tax towards funding SAP clearly isn't working.

I think his point was to leave the crime behind.
Living in SA is like living with an abusive spouse. You love them but they're constantly abusing and mistreating you.
If you can't change something that affects one negatively then there comes a point where one has to cut one's loses and move on - even if it's only to maintain one's sanity.

I want to stay in SA but I hold nothing against those who leave.
I just have a higher tolerance for "abuse" than others so there is no point in judging their decisions.
 
Slipping more & more into total anarchy like the rest of Africa.
 
People (especially women) need to take extra precaution around this festive period. Getting drunk in the night while you are not being escorted by a male companion is inviting trouble. Rape has become such a crisis in this country, even the police cannot be trusted anymore:mad:

Seems to be the exception to the rule when it happens abroad and most of the time the law takes its course. In SA the chances of a successful conviction are minimal. Inevitably a docket will go missing or a witness will get assassinated.

Nope, we are quite unique...
