My mini is four years older that that - the first of the intels iirc - and it's still plodding along nicely. :)

Yip. it could easily be called one of Apple's best kept secrets and/or most overlooked products.

My problem is that I keep finding ways to use them to improve my workflow (hence a trend to replace them every 3rd year); fortunately the 2010 model was taken over by a friend (helping to discount the new one)

Hi Cassady,

I found them via Gumtree. He has a driver who brings the machine to your chosen destination (or Digicape / iStore if you want to check any warranties, etc) to inspect the machine and test drive it. If you're happy he'll send you an invoice and you can pay via EFT. In my case I had the machine before paying the full amount (deposit before, rest on collection). Works well as I'm pretty sure you have a few days to reverse an EFT if something goes wrong. It worked very well for me and he's a very pleasant guy who went out of his way to accommodate me. All our correspondence was via phone and email. The driver was more just a delivery guy, but had some knowledge. I'm in CT, but I believe he operates in Durbs and JBG as well, not sure where else. His name is Louis. You can always give him a call on 083 385 2992.

So without starting a new thread, what is a fair/going rate for a 2 year old used iPhone 4S 16gig in as mint condition as expected, with boxes, cable/charger, headphones?

Considering MTN flooded the market with new ones recently for R1999 you'll be lucky to get much for it.
 
Just wanted to share a good experience with whoever may still be looking for a decent place to pick up a used Mac. I came onto the forum not too long ago trying to find reputable places that sell used Macbooks particularly, and I was reluctant to go the Gumtree route. I found a very good site ; www.macworx.co.za that helped me out. They source Mac products according to what the customer wants and I can easily say I was extremely impressed with the service and I would highly recommend them to anyone else that wants to go the used route. I picked up a Macbook Pro 13'' that is next to new and very well refurbished. Anyways, long story short I'm very happy and highly recommend them. Later guys.

The business is seems to be quite small at the so I'm not sure they really change a lot or very often? Nevertheless, just thought I'd inform people of an option out there that I've personally had a positive experience with.

I had a very positive experience from Secondbite. Great guys and should be able to sort you out in CPT,JHB,DBN without much issue. They delivered exactly on time and they give you an invoice etc.
Will not have a problem using them again in the future.
