I have taken upon a task of creating a simplistic site to host and manage an Online Clan Database.
Unfortunately, after a year of hard coding, I have come to the realisation that it will take more than one person to fully complete the task, as well as implement all my ideas in a timely manner.
So, I come to you today to ask if anyone would like to help, or contribute in any way to this project.
What I need from the Community
A MSSQL Database Administrator - To continue from where I left off, and build to deal with any impact it may receive.
A JavaScript Coder - Mainly because I am no good with JavaScript at all.
A C# Web Developer - Just to help me with the core of the site, for now. After which, we can tackle different aspects to bring it online faster.
A Flash Developer - In case I need pretty sparkly stuff
The sites' core is coded in C#, with quite a bit of JavaScript. I am taking a super simplistic approach the the design, and believe in minimalism.
My [apparent] goals
The site needs to be free, and with no [external] advertising at all.** I can certainly pay R110 for the host and domain.
All features, all aspects need to be open and unlimited to any registered member. I will not tolerate another site that is 'free', with special paid-for services.
**External advertising means any spam related media generated from click-advertisement. Internal clans, as well as sites pertaining to the concept of OCDb
could have a welcome place to advertise. But this will have to be well thought out.
After notes
No one will be getting paid. As far as income is concerned, there will be none generated.
Donations will be gladly accepted from the community, of which, a chunk will go to server-maintenance, and the rest split among the team.
I believe in full-transparency. Donation tracking will be made available for all donors.
Even if no one is currently interested, I will continue this mission on my own. I'm not asking for any one to take over what I'm doing, but to help me to
give back to the community.
This will be a Proudly South African Initiative.
I will try update this post - and re-structure it to come across to the general person in a good light. I hope that you still get the point of my effort.
I have added 3 images just to give you a basic visual of what I've got. This is in no way the extent of the site.
