Six Arrested After Farm Attacks

With all due respect, what has your hatred towards Intel to do with all this? He might be a journalist for a non English paper or whatever. Anyway, we are not discussing Intel8080 in here. STOP derailing brother.
And now back to the topic: I am glad to hear the community united against crime.
0 for the criminals
1 for the community

So what is your solution? Should we stop trying to catch criminals, since they will end up back on the street anyway?

I don't have a solution, I was just making an observation.
No, we shouldn't stop trying to catch criminals, of course not, the more caught the better.

These weren't the kommandos though? Or were the kommandos just private security? If so why did the government have anything to do with them?

The farmers and people in the community used Kommando methods to capture the criminals. The Kommandos were disbanded by the current government, even though they promised that they wouldn't.

Yeah I know they were disbanded but what makes this similar to the tactics they used?

Normally when you read stories like in the OP you invariably tense up as you reach the bits you know are going to be bad. So, a better outcome than usual when I read this:

"They held a gun to my head ... I prayed out loud the whole time. God was there. One of the robbers stroked my hair and said: 'Sorry, Ouma.'"

They left, and after she managed to free herself, Du Toit called for help.

By no means am I trying to justify or defend it but just imagine the improvement of peoples' overall attitudes if, and as was here, the overwhelming majority of this sort of crime ended up with the victim coming away (at least physically) unscathed?
