Did my ICDL in 2008. I highly recommend that all 2007 users do so - it was the only way I could figure out how to use it.

Did mine last year. Knew everything already. Pitched up and did all the tests in one day, the booking lady was shocked.

Think about this:

Am I missing someting? With everybody so security conscious these days did no one notice the commonoity between five of the six?

You will pay money to keep your PC secure, you will pay money to protect yourself from Identity theft then go online to write a dicument that probably has personal information in it AND then store it online.
Do you really trust companies like Google to keep your information confidential? Information is WHAT THEY DO!! Consider the kind of information you can find on a site like google and how they got it.
I'm just saying...
By the way Bill Gates goal for years is for you to have what used to be called a "terminal" and go online to his company and pay to use tha application you need, sound familiar?
