In my view, France and Ireland are pretty much the two best teams in the Northern Hemisphere at this point in time, but I am sure England will rebound, but it will not be England's Six Nations to win. The toss is between France and Ireland.
Wales is in a tough spot, and Italy may be a danger given their depth. At least Wales is in this spot now, and not in 2023.
France should manhandle Italy today.

England are overrated. They talked themselves up after they beat the Springboks last year. But Jones will do juuust about enough to keep his job as usual

France will never win Ireland with this many errors. France is dominating the Italians, but can't convert their ball possession into points.

Yeah and maybe that's why he's still around. But he's also lost a world cup final with them. They finished 5th in last year's Six Nations. They barely scraped passed a Springbok side that was the final game of a grueling season. Granted, they beat a depleted Australia side, but that team also lost to Wales that had 10+ injuries. Scotland didn't exactly play well yesterday either. Perhaps we can judge when they play France and Ireland? Probably a good measure where they are. Maybe another 4th/5th place finish for them? We can only hope

Next week, England is playing against Italy. They need to secure a bonus point.
France vs Ireland will in my opinion be the biggest game in this championship. Played in Paris next week.
Scotland vs Wales... the depth test.
Anyway, England is on the road to 2023, and as can be seen, Jones are disappointed with the result, but he has always been experimental in the build-up year going into the Rugby World Cup year. Just like the above-mentioned two teams, Scotland and Wales, which both have inherent depth issues, England is now in the deep dive to widen their selection criterion. Jones like a big pool, and now with the new eligibility rule do expect larger selection pools, though I don't believe it will necessarily apply to England as they don't have depth issues and have a very large player development base. Not too many unions can sustain large pools, but the RFU sure can. Next year will be more telling, on and where these Northern Hemisphere teams are.
OT:
Portugal had a huge game against Georgia, 25 v 25. I wouldn't mind seeing this Portuguese team at the Rugby World Cup. Italy beware...

Yeah, to some extent.
Italy haven't won a 6N fixture since 2015. They don't belong in this comp IMHO... any team that arrives on the day, motivated, with ruthless intent, will put them away comfortably. Opposition don't take them seriously enough but playing at 80% capacity is usually 10% more than is actually required...
