Six officials surrender bonuses

This is very impressive, I will try restrain myself from trying to read too deep into this situation with respect to alterior motives(as we so often have to do here in SA) and take this at face value.

Well done.
 
R300 000 between 6 officials is definately a good start. Imagine if that were accumulated by all the officials at their level and higher?

Maybe they watched last Sunday's Carte Blanche exposé on what a balls-up Pietermaritzburg has become with regard to municipal services and corruption and felt the walls closing in. Can't really argue if there's no evidence of alterior motives though so yes, well done!

Seriously though, if everything is above board and it is the way it says in the article - well done to them - THAT is showing leadership and the principle of "serving the community" which is what government should be all about.
 
If they get a 50k bonus they must be doing ok... Well done though.
No public servant should be getting a bonus with the state of this country.
