sixty60 - checkers app

I used it once so far and he was on a 125cc motorcycle. Times are hard. R10/R20 means much to these guys than me. Also, I doubt if checkers gives them much out of R35.

I really doubt this considering how neatly packed things I received in big brown packets. That looked someone trained to do the packing. I would imagine these drivers just go to some counter, pick the order up and deliver - just like ubereats. It won't be worthwhile for a driver to shop around for 30 minutes (at a minimum) to get a paltry delivery fee. Plus I can see couple of more issues in driver picking up items by themselves.

From what I have seen at Checkers they have dedicated "shoppers" pulling each order, I've seen them handing orders over to the delivery rider.

Which would make sense, optimises the time, or else there will be massive backlogs each time a rider returns back to the store.

1) Anybody with info about what happens when you order something and its not available and they give you a substitute which you don't want or is not related to what you ordered?

e.g. I ordered Finish dishwasher cleaner - they gave me dishwasher salt. I ordered a particular brand of olive oil in 1 litre, and they gave me a random brand 750ml?

Can you take these items back to the store for a refund or credit? Or log an issue and wait?

2) Does the checkers Xtra savings discounts apply to orders on Sixty60?

1. I have never been given something that I didn't want. I usually manually select alternatives. In each case I've been given what I selected.

2. No, but they have said it's coming soon before. Been a few months though.

This happened to me today. First time in 6 orders. I ordered 700g pasta sauce (19 rands) checkers brand and selected 'No alternative'. They just went ahead and gave me some fancy brand 400g pasta sauce (51 rands).

I have submitted an issue. Let us see what happens.

They refunded me when i submitted the issue for the incorrect products sent to me.

If you haven't selected an alternative, really makes more sense for them to rather omit the product then just randomly give you something. They need to fix their business rules around this,
 
Naughty naughty.

Thing about checkers 60 is that they decide which store based on proximity. MIL closest store always finds EVERYTHING, our closest store normally misses out 20-30% of the order even with alternatives selected etc... Its just bad packers at the store, I'm sure... But can't pick the better store, despite it being the same drive time away :(
 
I dont use the app for fresh stuff like fuit, veg, meat dairy. I prefer to physically check the fresh stuff i buy. E.g. With dairy, they guys don't check the expiration, and sometimes give you stuff expiring the next day. Which isn't great.
This makes sense, but this will shake them up a bit, the complainant has 2 million followers. And there's plenty of other complaints in the tweet's replies.
 
Anyone else have major issues with the app today?

Placed an order this morning and it still hasn't arrived. The app also says I have no outstanding or previous orders and the app is slow. No response from Checkers

My order still says 18:00 will see if they pitch or not doubtful if your order has not been fuffiled
 
Only downside Ive found is our local stores "pickers" are terrible.
Generally order 20 items, get about 12 of them...

Used them during lockdown last year. Was convinced that they did have the items in stock so went I to the store myself anyway and found them on the shelf :cautious:

Just got notified 2 items where out of stock on my order so seems has not changed but no way they will make the 18:00 timeslot
 
My order finally arrived about 8 and a half hours after I ordered. Not the full order though.

Got an update from Checkers that they had technical issues with sixty60 pretty much all day. All customers (in my area at least) were affected. They promised that my next delivery will be free
