Skils in danger

Hmmm, this thread lost it's track. Ppl, it is about the braindrain and the low quality of our education system.

Heng, this country is really going to the dogs!

Well at least we have enough brains left to correct each other.

Or, I dunno, you could just learn to spell correctly.

I have three sons all with post matric technical/engineering qualifications - one is already abroad, and the remaining two are set to leave Q1 next year.
They see no need compete on an uneven Bladdy Elite Enrichment playing field, and their skills are sought after abroad.

BTW. Firefox 2 has built-in spell checking with language add-ins for a few including Afrikaans.

Murphy's law, you will make a mistake while correcting others. I get paranoid when correcting others.

Isn't that always the way? Let he who casts the first stone etc.. :)

Must admit my spelling and command or written English is not always what it could be. :)

TBH English is such a fluid language that I'm pretty sure in 50 years time most of the spelling we take as gospel today will have changed, especially with the advent of txt spk.

/Soz for going off topic.

btw there is a slashdot article, Microsoft is moving R&D to Canada because the US does not have enough professionals and Canada has a lax emigration policy with regards to IT professionals.
