Sky services in SA

So is there no way to load a channel from another region to the Roku (with a USA account)? I could reset my Roku and set it up as a UK one (if that is possible) but then I will loose Hulu. Anyone know of a way to load the channel on the Roku?

I used a free uk vpn to get the xbox app. Never needed it again after that.
Then unotelly to watch :)

E.g: http://www.bestukvpn.com/

I can get a free three day vpn from unotelly but I'm umming and ahing about the xbox live gold subscription. As it stands the box will probably be cheaper in the long run.

If my WD TV live player had Sky Now/Sky Go, I'd use that instead of my Xbox. Next time I'll buy a Roku :)
The xbox with its remote solved my lazyness problem, my pc-tv setup had no remote control and I'm not standing up to change channel

Sign up for 1 month, it might be worth testing it out.
Set xbox account to UK before purchase: http://support.xbox.com/en-NZ/my-account/manage-account/change-region

Anyone able to help me out?

Thanks for that. The second link just tells you how to change your Netflix region which I already know how to do. So unfortunately it doesn't seem possible to get this working on my Roku which is really sad as it would have been a perfect solution. Will continue to look around for solutions but if anyone else can shed some light that would be greatly appreciated.

Is there not a way that I can either Flash my Roku with the UK firmware or even reset it and change my account to UK and then just use Netflix UK channel (but change it to USA channel in unotelly). I still have a year voucher for Hulu but to be honest I hardly ever use Hulu, Netflix gets used daily tho so can't loose that. Anyone know if this will work? That seems to be the only way to get NowTV working on my Roku 3.

I am not sure but you can set NOWTV Option to UK on Unotelly. Leave everything on US. It works for me. Roku 3 on US, Sony devices on UK so i can move between US Netflix and UK Netflix.

I am still lost: i only want the sport channels, aprt from a day pass, are they only available for 40

I have NowTV set on UK. But when I try add the NowTV channel to my Roku, it tells me the channel is not available in my region - this is adding the channel from my mac - how did you add the channel? Or are you accessing NowTV through some other device or through the Roku?

Thats because you have a US Roku Acc

Yeah thats what I asked earlier.

Do you have a UK Roku account? Where did you get your Roku from and did you set it up as a UK account? Sorry just a little confused. How were you able to get the NowTV channel on your Roku?

So apparently if I un-link my device and then create a UK account and then link my Roku to the UK account, it should give me access to the UK channel store. Going to give that a try and will report back.

So that didn't work - unlinking my device, deleteing old account, creating a new UK account and then linking the Roku to the new account it still loaded US store even tho my Roku profile clearly states im in the UK. not sure if there is a setting I need to change in Unotelly maybe?

Read alot of forums where people have successfully changed from US to UK after factory reset ect. Any way waiting to chat with Roku support and see if they can manually move my account to UK.

Thanks so much for this - I signed up as soon as I saw they offered Disney and Discovery - the only channels I missed when I cancelled DSTV early in the year. Had a few problems but as soon as I enabled NowTV in Unotelly's settings I was up and running.

So I finally got Nowtv working on my Roku and signed up for the Entertainment package and is working. Just have a few questions: how is the quality of the streams and secondly how is the content they have on offer?

I know the live TV works quite well and have tested it bit the quality isn't the greatest - I am running a 6mb uncapped line.

How is the quality of NowTV for you? I finally got it working on my Roku but the quality seems poor. I have a 6mb uncapped line and netflix and hulu run in full HD without problems but the NowTV streams are even close to HD. Also do you have the Entertainment package? If you do how are you finding the content? I know live tv is there but they offer all the channels and shows that you can watch that was previously aired but most only have one or two episodes - is it the same for you?

I find NowTV stream quality to be worse than Netflix mostly. Netflix will run 720HD all the time, but NowTV most often runs at 480 SD. I have the same issue on my Xbox.

I think the way NowTV streams is just worse than Netflix's methods. Blame it on their code monkeys.
I'm running a Plugg uncapped 6meg account.

Oh and don't forget to sign up for a month free movies trial on Now TV (if you've not done so already)

NowTV seems to have it's moments where it's constantly buffering. I've just ordered a NowTV box which is apparently a rebranded Roku. From what I've read I can also side load Plex on to it which, for £9.99, sounds like a pretty good deal. :)

I have NowTv Box...got Plex sideloaded, but Im not able to stream most of the US channels i.e CBS, ABC and some other ones like JustinTV etc its tells me that I must make sure the client is the latest...and it is...However it works fine on my pc through the Plex mediaserver...Has anyone got any ideas or thoughts on why.

Can't help you with the rest? But where you manage to buy the Now TV box? Would be perfect for some of the rarely used tvs in the house.
