Has anyone purchased and played Skyland. My kids are wanting to buy it, but at R800, I don't think they should waste their money like that unless the game is really, really good.

I bought it, it's actually very cool, bought some additional characters too. It's quite an experience and it gets very hard later on.

But yeah, it's quite expensive.

So would my kids enjoy it. They're 9 and 13. They're sharing the costs but I wouldn't want them to waste their money if it's not a very good and entertaining game.

I'm probably going to get the ps3 one sometime this year. My Brother in law has it for his kids and they already have 20+ characters and add on packs....

very very interesting, potential (maybe even unintended) piracy blocker perhaps?

damn, i dont know, imagine paying each time you want to drive a different car in Gran Turismo/ Forza? i feel this idea is gonna work and pay off , but i dont hope so.

Well you already have that with DLC. I think it works here because of the collectable aspect of the game. Not sure it will work in other genre's

I have it on PS3, bought a couple of characters that caught my eye too. at 32 characters available to pop on this is a nifty piece of hardware indeed. Your kids wont go wrong with skylanders.

Fantastic game, my son and I spend hours playing this together nice family time not just entertaining for kids but adults too the toys are very well made. Another game I can recommend to keep kids active is Power up Heroes for x-box really keeps them doing exercise without realising it :)

Was gonna get powerup heroes but it was a toss up between that and dance central 2. They eventually went with DC2 as they played a bit at Makro. They now think they're these cool dances but they actually look very funny and awkward.:D
DC2 also keeps them sweating, especially my 13 yr old who mission in life now is to only watch tv/movies and play tv games and do nothing else.:)
