@kilos Wow, how is it possible to get call rates that low? Unbelievable! Even by routing calls to dodgy places around the world i still don't get how its possible?

Yeah interesting, I have used their products for a few years, the SIP server are normally located in Germany or UK sip.telbo.com or sip.voipraider.com

You will just have to test the latency to see if their is any delay in your conversation much like a 2 way radio

Your voip calls get routed by the internet to European SIP servers where they break out and dial your PSTN Telkom or Mobile numbers

I don't use it much to call in SA. We use it mainly to call the USA. But it sucks that when costs are falling around the world SA is increasing. You realize this is because of those high interconnect call rates?

I only use it for skype to skype.
Skype has made watching my niece growing up in a far off place priceless.
They may have done a things which annoyed us but also some good things along the way!

Screw Skype, we need open standard VoIP services like SIP.

Looks like Ebay has just sold its controlling stake in Skype... I wonder if recent rate increases were intended to make the company a little more attractive to investors?!

Maybe, but then those investors will deserve what they'll be getting themselves into. A short-term tactic like this one shouldn't be used as a factor when deciding whether to buy a brand like Skype - it WILL bite you in the ass.
