Skyrim PS3 vs PC

My current gaming rig is:

Intel Q8300
4GB DDR 800 RAM
HSI HD 4870 512MB
Monitor 19" 1440x900

With this machine, would it be better to get skyrim for PS3 or PC? Any idea how many FPS I would get on PC compared to PS3? Are there any stores in Durban that have some kind of demos or demonstrations for the PS3 that I could take a look at?
 
On the same note I'm looking for somewhere in Durban that has it for PC today. BT Games in Pavilion don't.
 
The game is directx 9 I think, so your PC should handle it just fine. Is your PS3 connected to a large TV? I think that'd make it more enjoyable vs a 19" monitor.

Also, anyone know if the PC has a different interface? I don't like the dumbed down interface with menu's after menus that consoles need. Morrowind had such a nice interface... windows you could move and resize even. If the interface was different on PC, that would be my deciding factor.
 
Your grahpics card is fine but CPU will slow things down a bit. The game doesn't really make much more use of more than 2 cores. So it is better to have a higher clocked dual core than a lower clocked quad core. Anyways, it is not that demanding so you will still run at over 30fps on medium settings at 1440x900.

Even a 9600GT will run the game fine at over 30fps at your resolution with a 3GHz CPU. I read a few performance reviews and it seems that it is worth it getting it for my old laptop. I will be able to get over 30fps on medium/high (1368x768) with my CPU (T9900, 3.4Ghz) and GPU (320M GT....equivalent to a 9600GT)

pc for sure played oblivion on my xbox 360 ,mouse and keyboard just feels so much better, and i think graphics is superior on pc too.
 
Will be playing on a 40" 1080p tv if i get it for ps3. Can any1 maybe post up some screenshots of pc/ps3?
 
If the control system is anything like Oblivion I'd upgrade your PC. I finished it on PC then got given it in a trade for PS3, tried it and laughed it off after a few hours. Sadly I went on to finish it again on PC when it was featured in a Steam special.
 
Apparently the quality on the XboX/PS3 is somewhere between the low and medium settings on the PC. So you'll get better fps and graphics on your PC.

I'd go PC if I were you. You will get a lot better gfx on the pc than you will on PS3
 
oh shweet , got skyrim yesterday ! WHAAT it runs on max :D thank you consoles lmao :D and this game is coooool ... droolllll ... the dragon in the first sequence is woooow :D

I see PC is way significantly better quality. Nice.
 
PC if you want superior graphics, superior interface, superior mod support and controls.

PS3 if you want to play it laying down on your couch.
