You're still in for a big download with patches and mods and stuff, but what about local online retailers? Takealot, Kalahari, and the like? BT Games and Zaps also deliver.

I was also looking everywhere for a copy yesterday, and eventually managed to get hold of one from CNA at tygervalley, and they had like 3 copy's left i think.

I got mine today from BT Games in Canal Walk. I'm sure they still have stock or one of the other shops in Canal Walk will have it.
Side note...wtf is the whole thing with forcing me to install Steam and forcing me to download the patches. I'm also on a 3G connection and I'm just lucky I have a few hundred MB left for the month. Most people won't check online to see how to install the game from the disk too since it starts downloading from Steam by default. Quite annoying when I just want to install and play. They should just have it install from the disk by default and just activate on steam without having to create an account and install steam.
Still busy waiting to launch the game. Think it's downloading some 200MB patch now.

Steam is the present guys. Please catch up and do your little bit to improve broadband in this country. Just get yourself adsl and add webafrica home connect for R29.

Steam costs R475 but same game is R322 from takealot with free delivery and an actual disk which you own.
Andhow use takealot.

I have the game on order, but I only now learned that I would need to install via online. WTF. I only have a 50MB 3G bundle. How much would I need? FFS. Looks like its gonna be EXPENSIVE. Anybody knows of a "no-Steam" crack?

A no steam crack would only work once you have the game installed, you need steam to install the game so good luck with that one.

You need around 250MB before you can play. About 220MB for the patch and a bit to install steam. Just glad I had enough data to be able to install fully. Make sure you cancel the steam download when it starts downloading the game or you'll need over 10GB
I don't mind installing steam because it doesn't use much data. Don't like the way we are forced to download the patch or be unable to play though. What if there is a 1GB patch out and I have no data left to download it? I normally do patch my games but only in my own time when I have sufficient data to spare.
I installed the game without Steam.
