Skyrim

Anyone knows where to find ebony swords? Not a greatsword, just the one handed type? I've got the ebony armour, boots, gauntlets and one ebony sword. I like fighting with dual swords, so I need one more.

The draugr deathlords carry them, but only if you are above level 32.

Well you can always use console commands

For example:
player.additem 0001d520 gives you a "Ebony Sword of the Vampire" and
player.additem 0001d62c gives you a "Ebony Sword of the Blaze"

And so on, Full list of items here http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ebony_Sword_of_the_Blaze#of_the_Blaze ;)

Disables achievements, if you care about those...

No! No! No! No! No! :p I'm old skool. I want to do it the hard way and find and enchant my own metal. BTW. I've already used the gold cheat :D My boytjie is just to slow in gathering gold.

You should find them in burrows and crypts, where you would usually find any draugr. Possibly as a boss at lower levels and becoming more common at higher levels

Will go draugr hunting then. Ebony stuff is just freakin heavy. My character can handle 370 (kgs? lbs?), picked up an ebony bow and it was like 369...

Add more stamina :)

Or pick skills to help

My lvl 45 "Rouge" can carry thanks to pick pocketing up to 520 and my lvl 50 "Battlemage" opted for heavy armor skill and it weighs nothing to him so most of his 340 is open to carry junk.

Seems like I've got a little sissy elf. The "mean" ass scar and tattoo on the face helps buggerall. I will feed him more bananas.

Seeing that there is still people playing the game.. do any of you use any add-ons?

Reason I ask is I must admit even with the game that looks so good its amazing how you can spice it up with what is available. For example I love the Realistic Lighting mod that gives the game sooo much more atmosphere esp when crawling in dark places, also when playing a "cat", it gives me a reason to use the night vision

Normal View

Night Vision

Then course there is the outside world that just looks "alive" with dynamic weather and chance from night and day.

Day

Night

Also I would recommend Better sorting + Sky UI to make sense of the inventory as this is a pc game after all. I really dont know why they didn't do something like this in the 1st place. Its a PC dammit, we use a mouse to select things and really dont feel like scrolling till kingdom come.

PS: All images linked so you can see full ress if you want to.

If you use 3 ingredients you can get extra effects out of a potion for example if you mix Luna Moth Wing + Spider Egg + Vampire Dust you get Damage Mana on weapon and Regen HP as well as Invisibility out of one potion.

Its a simple text file so you should say save as

I'm trying to understand this but I can't seem to? The potion that you described above for example; if I look up the ingredients on the skyrim wiki this is what I get:

Luna Moth Wing:
Damage Magicka
Fortify Light Armor
Regenerate Health
Invisibility

Spider Egg:
Damage Stamina
Damage Magicka Regen
Fortify Lockpicking
Fortify Marksman

Vampire Dust:
Invisibility
Restore Magicka
Regenerate Health
Cure Disease

Now according to the above, the only ingredient that has damage magicka is luna moth wing, but the potion still gives damage magicka

The health regen and the invisibility I understand because more than 1 ingredient has it but the damage magicka I don't get. Unless the game replaces damage magicka regen for damage magicka?

Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

Sounds good. Will try.

Great game but typical "the elder scrolls" cheesy dialogue. Why can't they lighten up to something more akin to dragons age with it's wit and dark humour.

They were going to, but then they took an arrow in the knee

Depends on your level and perks. If you look at the DB I linked you will see there is numbers next to the effects:

Luna Moth Wing + Spider Egg + Vampire Dust = DamMag (15.76) | RegHp (67.78) | Invis (100) | Value: 183.54

That number shows the chance and strength of the effect that it will be in the potion. The higher the number the more likely it will be in the potion, so if you did not take any Alchemy perks > 40 will not show up at all.

So for general use you can just exclude them from the app i guess as they are dependent on what perks you took?

Actually, your recipe is wrong and stevovo is correct.

The effects that appear in a potion or poison isn't dependent on the skill level, and the only perk that that changes that is Purity, which prevents a potion from having both positive and negative effects.

For a potion to have an effect, the effect has to shared by two or more ingredients that you are using. The spider eggs in the recipe doesn't share any effects with luna moth wings or vampire dust. You need something with damage magicka, and not damage magicka regen. Namira's rot or nordic barnacles are two examples of ingredients that will work.

Also, secondary effects appears depending on ingredients, not skill. You can have a alchemy skill of 15 and get the same effects as having an alchemy skill of 60. The strength of the effects is dependant on perks and skill.

Aaah sorry then, my mistake. I got the DB from someone else and interpreted it as such.

I just want to make sure, a potion can only have max 3 effects, right?

I'm not sure. There are some ingredients that have 2 effects in common. So it might be possible to get an ingredient that have two effects in common with some ingredient, and have it's other two effects in common with a third ingredient, which would give you 4 effects. I don't think there is any ingredients like that though. So 3 is likely the highest.

Ok. It took a while but I've got the new version of skyrim alchemy pocket book working. You can now select which ingredients you have in your inventory and it will show you all possible effects including potions with 3 effects.

There still might be some bugs so if you use it and experience something wrong please let me know.

I'm thinking of first presenting the user with a list of all the effects and then he/she can choose which one they interested in?
