SLI question

hi guys,

my friend has recently bought a computer and he got an sli mobo. now he's asking me if it is any good to get a second 8800gtx, so i'm asking u guys, is it a performance increase or is it very little that u can't really notice it?

There should be a performance increase, especially if he is running games at insane resolutions, but in my experience it's never been worth it...

yeah well he's not that much of an extreme gamer. but from what i heard it only makes a 5% performance increase

If he doesn't take his gaming that seriously then he should spend his money on something else, not a second graphics card

Sorry, seem to have misread the question, looked like a statement to me...

It should be a bit more than 5% in most cases, probably looking at about a 40% performance increase in some cases, maybe more.

thanks, that helped. looks like it runs damn good in some games but in the others in only goes down, oh well i'll let him make the choice
