I dont think telkom are capeble of installing "gold lines"
In south africa they would get stolen and melted down to remove the small amount of gold which is in it...

i got 384k DSl and it gets 380-400 on most tests. MAybe telkom gave me a 512K

Had Telkom Techs out today but they couldnt find any faults - fact is though, that they dont have a proper DSL tester. "a tester is to expensive to supply each area with one" is what management apperantly say- so no tester for these guys!!!!!!!!!
In the end I was told that ADSL is a "best effort service" so what you get you get - tuff luck buddy!!!

Believe it or not but telkom fairly often makes this mistake

No sometimes they charge you for 384 but they give you 512. I have heard of a few people who this has happened to
