Slow Cooker

What would be better for lamb shanks?

Done in the oven at low temp (<150C) for 6 to 8 hours. They simply do not taste the same in a slow cooker. I do moroccan style lamb shanks in the oven a few times a year, same goes for oxtail. You simply cannot achieve the same result in a slow cooker.

I bought my wife two of these electric pressure cookers with extra pot inserts. She never cooks on the hob any more. Saved me a ton in electricity over the years and the convenience as well as the the food quality and taste is just phenomenally better than conventional cooking. Worth every cent!

I can do the obvious low or high pressure cooking, broiling, browning, sauté, simmer as well as keep the food warm for an extended period after cooking.

Makro, Game and others have them on special at regular intervals.
