Slow DSL in East Rand

Anyone experiencing slow browsing in the Kempton Park area? This has been a problem since yesterday afternoon.
 
I'm connecting from the Bapsfontein area and it's been dog slow on both IS and SAIX since yesterday but I think it may be my line.
Good SNR ratio but 40% packet loss on first hop. :(
 
Same here in the great city of brakpan, Int and local, saix and IS all slow since yesterday :/
 
Very slow in Pomona. Keeps on dropping connection as well.
 
Same here, also in Brakpan. This is happening since yesterday afternoon.

Phoned telkom twice, and got 2 useless responses.

Slow in Durbanville

We should get 4mbps currently 601.4 Kbps...
 
Same here, Kempton Park.

Everything is slow (took about 2 mins for this page to open)

At least now I know it's not my line or setup or something.....
 
Totally dead now. Can't log in to either IS or SAIX based accounts for the past 3 or so hours. I can still make calls so it must be a problem somewhere on the Telkom backbone (ATM or whatever it's running on).
No one know exactly what it is?

Back to normal again

I had the same problem since yesterday:mad: , but when I got home at 6pm, all seems to be back to "normal":D
 
Ya, slow as hell here too. Also getting 30-60% packet loss at 1st hop, struggling to load pages and terrible download rates.

Also started yesterday around noon.
 
This morning it's still slow - local is a bit better but international is very intermittent.

How are you other guys doing?
 
The ADSL is still slow this morning. I checked my logs and the system started timing out already on 13-10-2006 at +- 13:00. I am based in Kempton Park right next to Benoni. Clients near by are also having problems. Then the same problem is currently in Albertion (Central).
 
Out of desperation I rebooted my router and noticed that the downstream line attenuation has increased to 55db....

Slow times ahead.
 
It seemed to be fixed last night at around 10 pm, but was slow again when I left for work this morning. My girlfriend was told something about a problem at the exchange when she phoned Telkom yesterday.
 
Benoni - ADSL down since 18th

ADSL in Benoni down due to 'Network failure' since 18th.
Down throughout 19th
Back an working since approx 10am on the 20th.

I have had trouble on both my work ADSL and home ADSL (Benoni both but different exchanges) over the last 4 to 6 weeks.

What the hell is up with Telkom? Come clean and explain yourselves! :mad: !
