Hello there all.

Well the problem is this:

my e220 was working fine, almost 300kb/s of download cool for what i was doing, but from a moment into another it's like if the internet traffic was limited. i only get a few kb/s for upload and, without using a download manager(40-45kb/s), i no more than 30kb/s of download. e deactivated the antivirus and antispyware. updated the drivers, the dashboard. e even emailed my Internet Service Provider (vodafone Portugal) and they sayd that nothing was wrong in my area to get such speed.
So now i think that it has to be something blocking the traffic but have no idea of what it can be.

Thanks in advance, RĂşben Freitas.

I assume you are still connecting at HSPDA speeds (Cyan colour on the modem)?. If not try setting your modem to 3G only. Next suggestion is to take a laptop and your E220 and test it in different locations and run some tests to speedtest.net. If it is slow everywhere the problems is probably the device. If it is fast in some places and slow in others then you will have to get Vodafone to check your tower.

well, I've just done a clean install of my OS and the speed is still the same. I could do that but if i activate my internet in other place than at my adress i will pay more 3€ at the end of the month. so, i don't think so.

It's a mobile solution so you should be able to go anywhere with it?

it's mobile but i have a subscription that i pay less per month if i don't get out home with my internet.

Strange. It rather defeats the purpose of wireless internet!

If you can't test it somewhere else and you don't have any speed test results captured from before it's going to be difficult to prove the problem is your tower. Best is then to just keep complaining till they fix it.

Final Thought: Have you used MDMA to check signal strength and set you modem to 3G only?

What morkhans also means is, you dont necessarily need to go somewhere totally different. Try moving to different rooms in your house, the roof, even out and around your yard.

@Iam3G I managed to get a extenssible usb cable and did try to put modem on diferent places as i use a desktop (stupid using desktop and use mobile internet, i know) and the results are the same.

@morkhans I did used the MDMA. gonna post a screenshot.

Your signal, while not fantastic is not bad either and it shows as HSDPA. Can you do some tests at speedtest.net and post the results?

And here are the results. The stranger thing is that about 3-4 days ago (before this problem start),I had like almost 300Kb/s of download speed. And now It hardly goes to 40Kb/s

If you cannot test the modem in a different location (say at a friends house) then the only thing you can do is run a number of speed tests during the day and show them to Vodafone support.

they will do nothing as always. last time they said that everything was ok on my area. but, gotta try then. thanks.
