Slow pace

i just hope a can have proper adsl before i kick the bucket (in more or less 50years or so)

Telkom’s price party had to come to an end sometime, and that time appears to have arrived.
Methinks Toby Shapshak of the Financial Mail is living in Alice's Wonderland.
I don't see anybody challenging Teklom via price. All the "competition" is riding the gravy train milking away like demonic clockwork dolls, faceless and obscure, singing songs of helpfulness while sowing confusion and obfuscating the truth.

LOL, sounds almost poetic :D.

Just wait a while longer for all the oodles of local fibre optic to materialise and bypass Telkodemonopolies' pathetic Digicrap, add to that international fibre optic in the form of SEACOM and EASSy, and it will be the perfect recipe for Telkodemonopolies' most feared disaster.

It's blatantly obvious to me that Telkodemonopolies hasn't got a clue about competing, and it isn't going to get a clue anytime soon either - the moment its competitors don't have to rely on Telkodemonopolies will be the moment when Telkodemonopolies will fall on its own sword.

Almost like a Samurai performing Sepuku :p ;) :D Who's going to cut off the head though?

lol... I thought Seppuku was done as a form of honour? "Honour" being the last thing I'd expect from the crap factory commonly known as Telkom.

I love that statement though, "Telkom lives in an Alice-in-Wonderland world where it thinks the quality of its ADSL service is great" so true... I think I'm going to print that out in large curly font and frame it.

Well, if they had any honour, they would have performed Sepuku long ago :p ;)

Gale says: “ADSL pricing will probably drop to about half of what it is now, but only when Telkom comes under serious competitive pressure, maybe in 2009. Telkom lives in an Alice-in-Wonderland world where it thinks the quality of its ADSL service is great. My 512Kbit/s service varies from 400Kbit/s plus to a pathetic 18Kbit/s on an off day.”

Ag. No problem guys. We have all the time in the world. I for one really enjoy paying almost R1000 for telecoms each month. It is so much fun putting money into the pockets of the super rich. That is why I was born. Competition will spoil everything so why have it? Petrol, food and medical bills are optional extras that I don't have to deal with and so I can afford my high Telkom, MTN and Vodacom bills...Who needs call centers to create jobs in SA? It will just make the work of SARS more complex because they would have to process more tax returns and there would be bigger numbers to work with. We don't need economic growth as it is overrated.

Telkom obviously do not frequent this Website. If they did, maybe they would have done something about their sorry excuse for a company after the 1 Billionth article about their high prices and bad service.

They must do their part of course from keeping the masses who might make a difference off the Internet. Self-educated people proved not to be so easily manipulated.

Competition is coming! It's on the Horizon! It'll be here now-now! Just a little longer! More undersea cables, almost finished!! Neotel will save us! LLU is almost here! Get Wimax, bypass everything, almost ready, rollout soon! The future's bright!
tap tap tap.

Lets not forget that we OWN 40% of this sinking ship, governmint is going to make us pay dearly for that.
If only Poison Ivy would sell the shares instead of lining her bird cage with the A & B certificates.

Telkom welcomes competition...

etc, etc, etc...

And then there's all that "Telkom is committed to the process of consistently adjusting its pricing model" crap...

Juice

Wow, on a side-note, you should Google "Telkom is committed" (with quotes) just to see all the amazing amount of BS Telkom IS committed to...

now if only someone could contact the queen to chop of telkoms head

It is great, I still wait only on average 30 seconds for a web-page to load. You telling me pages load faster elsewhere? UK / US / cable / fibre? Ha!
