Slow PC Issue

I had this issue on a few machines, around March, April after a windows update. Even after the next update problems persisted and a few of these still come in.

Drove me nuts for a few days then I did a Format/reinstall and all the PC's went back to normal. Haven't had any of them come back and I told them if the problem persists I will have a look for free because I wasn't sure what was causing it.

I did some research back then and found some post about dell/windows problem and all said it fixed with format/reinstall but also had the same problem with other laptops.

Like others said it may also be your hard drive.

If its your personal laptop I would get a clean W10 iso from microsoft.com and format.

The amount of shyte manufacturers preload on the computers is mind boggling.

The one PC I have this issue with was also fine until an update. When I have time I'm just gonna format & reinstall.

Same here, 1000+ company pc's running on it already and no issues. Issues are caused by crapy 3rd party software or non MS drivers most of the time, can't blame the OS all of the time :)

Not true. It is Windows to blame for in the first place. Besides, if company runs 1000+ computers, make sure that it is the same Windows as ordinary public (with the same forced automatic updates, bitcoin mining and other spyware called 'Telemetry') before posting stupid comments.

Why not do a rollback to a date before the issue started. That might solve it without requiring a format. Also make note of the current installed updates before the rollback to possibly pinpoint the culprit, then block that update.

I can't remember when it started, been a good couple of months now. It will be quicker for me to just reinstall then spend more time on the issue.

For ****s and giggles, just do a 2 month (or whatever your best guess is) rollback tonight before you go to sleep. No loss if it doesn't work.

It personal, you don't need do that. You wrote something suggesting that people should use Creators upgrade to fix one particular problem (not sure it is a true statement as you didn't give a proof) and I wrote that Creators update brings more problems than cures, amoung other things like a new distributed processing system running on user machines for free.

Creators update is in fact the worst update in Microsoft history. It is important that people know what to avoid.

If the tens of thousands of IT professionals who are testing Windows 10 in a lab environment can't find any evidence of distributed Bitcoin mining being done on user's computers, then I'm afraid a lone soul like yourself is really just barking up an empty tree.

This is tinfoil-hat-level stuff. I've had my own concerns with Windows 10 in the past privacy-wise, but Microsoft isn't buffing up their Bitcoin wallet this way.

There are no tens of thousands testers. It is a past. Since introducing Windows 10 there are hundred millions of testing stations, as Microsoft is testing unfinished crap software on each user.

Try a full Windows 10 reset. It fixes most problems on new laptops that run slower than it should. It will also remove all of the unnecessary bloatware that comes with the laptop. :)
 
Had this happen on multiple brand new dell inspirons we bought for as dev machines. 100% HDD usage.

Swooped out all the drives for SSD’s, cloned the HDDs, and it went away
