Hi, I've recently relocated and my rain network at my new place is terrible. The map showed that there was coverage in my area but the speeds have been so bad it is hard to even browse the web. My connectivity ranges from 3-4 out of 5 bars usually but my speed is 1.27 Mbps today as a highest but it is for the majority below 1Mbps. Before committing to the cost I wanted to know if anyone could advise if getting a Poynting Dual polarized medium gain LTR antenna will help increase my speeds?

Yes it will, undoubtedly.

Also, you should look into enabling carrier aggregation (CA) on your router setup.

There are many threads discussing this, as well as detailing how to use a band tool, so check these threads out, for starters:

The new Optimizer tool on the Rain website may also be of value to you - more details here.
HI, thanks for all the thread links they were very informative. I tried to access the rain optimizer but my dashboard doesn't have that option, it only has devices, account info and rain stores as the 3 options on my dashboard

Scroll down, where your device itself is listed, click on "view". In there, you will see "optimise"

Hi, can you advise on what action to take and how to interpret this? If there is so many towers near me does that mean it is a fault at rain and wouldn't be worth investing in the antenna?

So many options - looks like you hit a tower jackpot!
Perhaps you have a shitty phone? :sneaky:
I am using the Huawei P30 lite. I don't think it is the phone because the speed is only bad when I'm at home, yesterday I went out to buy some stuff and the connection was really fast I was able to download all my work for the week and stuff so idk. I do plan on getting a new router soon hopefully that can help fix the problem

A good router may help. Position it around the house until it connects to another tower and check speed. You seem to be connecting to a further tower, there are closer ones but those might be obscured by landscape, buildings, etc. You cant force it to use a specific tower, but if you got a router + external antenna, you may be able to aim it at a chosen tower, which would effectively lock it to that one, if the signal is much better than the others.

Just move around and refresh the tool until you see a connection to another tower, then speed test. Trial and error until you find a good one.

Hi, I just bought the Huawei B315 router it has external antennas but I'm getting a slow download speed of between 0.7-1.4 Mbps but a fast upload speed of above 7, any way to solve this problem or to increase my speed?

Hi Advaan,

Thanks for reaching out.

With the device change, it has increased your range that you are able to reach. According to our systems there is a tower that is much closer to you, in an westerly direction. Let's try and reboot and reposition the device first, failing which, we can look into alternatives for you.

I have done the following but there has been no change in the speed it is till averaging around 0.3 Mbps

Hi Advaan,

Thanks for the feedback.

I will get one of our team in touch with you to go through a few troubleshooting steps and then to see if a band change would be possible on your router and if the closest tower can facilitate this.

Hi that will be much appreciated, it is now saying that there is no internet access
