Slow Torrents Telkom

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone else with Telkom is noticing slow torrent downloads(like a max of 4Kb/s). Im on an uncapped account and have downloaded 18Gb for the month so far so its not my usage.
I know i can run it through a VPN but was just wondering if its actually Telkom throttling torrents? I know they are getting really aggressive with usage of bandwidth lately.

all the time bud. Not even at night will it run correctly. Even reinstalled bittorrent

My personal experience... connected to Parsons Hill exchange and on a 4Mbps uncapped account.

7am to midnight - sucks big time
midnight to 1am - get about half of max speed
1am to 7am --> FLIES full speed.

Hi there

My experience is that even at MickeyD's times, over the last few weeks Telkom (Mobile) has been throttling back all P2P/Torrents.

I am using Telkom Mobile (60gb+60gb prepaid ... fine for my usage) and set my PC to wake up Tixati at a bit before 12am and then torrents to download from 12 to 5am...Did screenshots of my file progress and it barely downloaded 20mbs over the last night or two for 5 hours a pop.

Just tested the LTE through the Huawei B563 and got 30ms ping, 29MBs down and 1,8MBs up.

They MUST BE throttling all Torrents/P2P .... Might as well chuck away the Telkom Mobile SIM if this is the case.

Any insights or a way to get Telkom to confirm this?

I know u can run it thru a vpn, i always find it a mission to do and u only get about 100kbps max but ya.. I remember reading that telkom is going to be more strict on ppl who use alot of bandwidth.. I personally got throttled a few months back, but its only now in the last month ive noticed this problem. My speed spiked earlier for about 5 min and now its gone back to 1kbps. Thanks for feedback

My 4Mbps usage from 1 October...

I'm on a 2MB ADSL and torrents crawl in the day time. They only pick up after midnight and then until about 8 am.
