I've moved from Telkom ADSL to Afrihost VUMA Reach Fiber. I'd like to use my own router since it has some features that the VUMA-provided one doesn't have (like 5Ghz Wifi, for example). I've also already got all my custom settings like static IPs, QoS etc.

This is the VUMA-provided router.
This is the one I'd like to use (it was provided by Telkom)

I connected a LAN port of the VUMA-provided fiber router to the WAN port of the Telkom router (which was previously used on my ADSL connection) and the internet works; all my devices that connect to the Wifi AP on the Telkom router also have internet. The problem is upload speed. I should be getting 10mbps upload speed but instead only get 1mbps. If I connect to the Wifi AP on the VUMA-provided router and run a speed test, I get the 10mbps upload, but any device connected to the Telkom router only achieves 1mbps upload. Download speed is fine; on my ADSL connection I was getting 10mbps down and now I'm getting the correct 40mbps down.

Are there any settings I need to change or is the router the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds like a double NAT which is not a good idea. You need to connect the router directly and I assume you would need to make it use the mac of the Huawei device.
