I received an e-mail from them in reply to a complaint via the same medium.(No wonder it's gotten cold) In the mail I was informed that to the best of their knowledge all the problems have been solved.
Sadly, I think they don't know their "behind" from their elbow.
I'm probably going to jinx myself by posting this, but youtube streaming has been good tonight. A little buffering at the start of the video and then it plays all the way through.

My problem is only with video, see here.It's clearly widespread - I'm in Jhb and the speeds have been appalling for days now.
Currently we reach google via a local IP transit from a 3rd party. As soon as Cape Town lights up in the next few weeks we can have Johannesburg and Cape Town connect directly to google.
Local caches being used currently are located at TENET.
Video and audio streaming is shaped. Max 30Kbps.
