There's definitely a dip in the yellow line (and all the others) that seems to correspond with the EASSy fault on 2012/02/17.

Strange though how flat the yellow line was before the EASSy fault, looks like throttling to me.

YouTube is reached via the Google peering point in Cape Town. Since we have more than enough capacity on national to them I have asked the local IP transit to contact them and ask what is going on.

It's not just YouTube, r00igev@@r. Every single form of streaming is up to sh*t. As I said, sites such as Grooveshark, Last.fm, literally all online radio streams on my playlist, as well as YouTube, etc are slow as hell. It's absolutely ridiculous and has been going on for the past week if not more.

PLEASE FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR NETWORK!!!

Thanks for your assistance with this.

Youtube streaming is still slow even though Grooveshark and a few other sites have returned back to normal.

I had this video buffering problem too. It is insane I have been with iBurst for a week. My Telkom line was down for 2 weeks so I cancelled everything to do with Telkom (ironically the day after I did so the arrived to check out the line). Anyhoo was getting iBurst speeds of up to 1.5 Mbps on speedtest.net so was very happy until I tried to get a torrent average 2 KBps, or watch Youtube video 10 minutes to stream 3 minutes!
This morning I choked on my coffe when I checked the NY server:

This is a local server:

What is going on iBurst? When we get a Youtube server with all the international content in SA....and I no loner have to get anything from an international source then this will suit me fine. This is WorldWW.

YouTube seems a little better for me today.

Notice the slight improvement in the yellow line on the 25th.

Eyenstyn you are right. check the time of my post. On iBurst you have to carefully schedule your youtube sessions between 2:00 and 4:00 am. I have not been able to watch one during the day without heavy buffering. Sigh!! Ground control to iBurst.

We obtain youtube via a local transit. It seems that they have a problem caused by the cable fault as well. We are reliant on them resolving the issue which will take a while from the feedback.

Wel, at least you can get the vids to buffer. My connection just comes up with the message, "Dude, really?! Don't waste your time." And then it shuts down.

Iburst speed

I am having the same issue, I cant stream youtube at all.
