Slow WebAfrica

i've had shocking pings since friday last week.
slow to ny, better to london... i think local was also pretty bad.
things seem to have sped up a bit in the last two days though.

Certainly seems to be on the local and not international side:

Hi All,

We understand that a few of our customers have not been experiencing the speeds which they are used to. Due to problems on other ISP’s networks, we have seen a significant level of growth on ours.
We are currently undergoing upgrades and our engineers will be tweaking the network in order to facilitate the excess capacity and increased growth. Our customers will be back up to the usual fast speeds shortly.

Whatever you guys did seemed to do the trick.

Local and international is back to normal.

I have the same problem. I phoned them and they told me they are aware of the high latencies on their line. As per the techie all the poephols who have been affected by the seacom line being down, have all come to WA and their line cannot handle all the additional customers. And as such our latencies, etc have been effected.

Dammit. It's slow again today.

Almost identical local speeds as yesterday.

International seems fine though.

WA was dead for me last night. I couldn't even send/receive email on my WA account, had to use a TelkomISP backup account. Google.co.za was up, but I guess it was cached as News24, MyBB etc. was down as well.

Hi guys

Thank you for all the feedback provided.

I have informed our engineers that there still are a few problems.

I will update the post as soon as I have some more information.

Thank you.

I had major hassles yesterday afternoon with nothing happening at all and went to plan B (afrihost) which was pretty terrible so not a good afternoon. Seems to be much better this morning.

Hi Guys

Sorry for my delay in replying to the thread.

Due to significant levels of growth on our ADSL infrastructure in recent weeks, we have implementing infrastructure improvements.

Our engineers have successfully completed the infrastructure maintenance on our network.

We apologies for any inconvenience caused during this time.

Please pm me your details if you are still having some issues.

Thank you.

Having another slow day today. Youtube is crawling again......

im also having issues since the last week + of last month. what are you guys doing about it? in the mean time im paying R500/month to you and i cant even use up my 50gb CAP?????? last month i had probably about 20GB+ left because your network is just too slow!!!!

http://www.speedtest.net/result/884876133.png at the moment which is 3 times more than my average of about 300kbps on a 4096kbps line!?

I have an outstanding ticket on WoW latency issues for last few days.
