Okay its back up now obviously (not that obvious) but the problem is that as it comes back up the speeds are terrible. A simple restart of my modem fixes this, but pings are over 1000ms and speeds around 200kb and even local is pretty bad.
This seems to happen almost everytime after int. access goes down. Its pretty irritating, especially for the rest of my family who dont even know to restart the modem and might not even know there was a break in internetional access.

Yes I'm afraid even my connection lately over the past month or two has not been up to the standard I was used to from iBurst, but I've noticed that ever since wbs were "playing" around with the Plumstead tower it has not been up to standard.

I didnt notice the international link go down today or the rest of yesterday after it came back up. But I believe you Mr.H I'm geussing it was pretty small breaks in connectivity?
Still a bad screw-up from Iburst... not anything about it on their website. grrr

I have no idea when it came back as I was so pissed off with the crappy connection in general lately that I decided to go out before I broke something here.
I don't think congestion is the main problem here, as I already said things started getting bad when wbs decided to play around with the Plumstead tower, and it has never been the same since then.

Slow again today 110 kbs , all they care about users is contracts not spead of internet!

Yep it has been terrible lateley, but I should get much better speeds and mostly pings whe i move onto my new tower.
Maby we should logg a complaint about the degrading speeds on the tower though, you have a perfect conection as far as Iburst gos... if you're pissed then imagine my connection!

Ekhaatvensters, as far as I remember after they worked on the tower your speed improved and mine went down, that makes me think they messed with the antennas on the tower, but since then they've been back to the tower several times and each time it got worse.
Plumstead used to be one of the fastest and most stable towers until they messed with it, and I hope wbs or Shaun is reading this post so that just maybe they will return the tower to it's previous state, not that I think they ever could.
Oh yeah international went down again a few min ago for me.

Yes, very possible. A friend of mine in the same area as me got a much better conection one day out of the blue. He simply went from moaning about Iburst to finally finding it acceptable.
There must have been some kind of a chnage that benifited people further away from towers... or the antennas must have moved as you said and it happen to benifit some people and not others.

Do you guys complain TO iBurst instaead of ABOUT iBurst at all?
Which Base Stations are all of you connecting to?
I'm using Plumstead I'm 7Km's away and I get 1Mbps.

I used to get 1mbps during the day and it used to go up to 1,3mbps most nights, my complaint is that when wbs start messing with a base station that had nothing wrong with it BEFORE they started fiddling with it, since then my speeds went down and others went up slightly which seems to point to wbs moving antennas around besides messing with other settings of the base station.
I am within 1km of the Plumstead base station and upstairs so I expect it to be fast and what I'm PAYING for.
Maybe wbs should swing that antenna that is giving you your speed BACK in my direction.

Hmmm ok I hear you but you have to take into account is that if there are guys in excellent coverage areas putting up external antennae they just creating hassle for the consumers...WBS may not be your problem area here your fello iBurst users may just be the cause.....The base Station reacts based on what feedback it gets from UT's....so these guys with overly strong signals are creating a confusion......I will chat to a dudey and get you some more info.......

LOL just kidding!I don't feel it's congestion or other users since my problems started when wbs (or whoever works for them in CT) took the base station down for "servicing", up until that point my modem was flying and I probably had one of the fastest connection on this forum, and I'm sure many of the older members can remember me boasting about my speeds and I used to wonder why they were complaining.... You say you are 7km away and you are getting speeds almost as fast as I used to get, these days I'm lucky if I top 512kbps during the night, and during the day if I hit 300kbps I count myself lucky.
If the tower was overloaded you would also be getting the same crappy speeds.
To answer your first reply, yes I have called wbs plenty of times but the only 2 people that have been any help were Shaun and Porcia, as for the rest all they ever do is tell me to check my MTU and say there is nothing wrong their side.
That been said there is no point in calling them UNLESS I can get hold of Shaun or Porcia.
