'Slummies' meet on Facebook

Lol@Dragonlogos, your input would be more helpful with a little more explaining.

On a more serious note, was this article taken from the dispatch? Just wondering... or maybe the dispatch article sparked a facebook frenzy - interesting to note if it's that way round - the power of the media to put ideas into people's heads. Apparently some businesses are losing productivity to facebook. But then a birdie told me the same of MyADSL :D

On the side, how do I for example, find this "You Gotta Love Slummies" group on FB, the interface is a little less than intuitive IMO.

Do these facebook people realize how easy it for them to be found by anyone now? so don't moan about privacy then, cause that is now null and void.

Facebook is not about posting your own photos alone... that's the other side - others post pics of you...

Lawyers the Dispatch spoke to warned that those who chose to divulge personal information on Facebook, did so at their own risk.

That's just a bloody silly thing to say. Of course you do it at your own risk. Same as you do when you put any details anywhere online. Silly monkeys.

That said... Friesland milkshakes make the world go round.

I've heard rumour are the FBI uses facebook to track people - it wouldnt surprise me. Facebook is like the borg - you will be assimilated

... UCT = 9,840 people on the facebook network :p

Not so silly, it seems some college students were sued by the college with material used from facebook as evidence...

Another parent of two teenagers emphasised concerns that Facebook could be addictive and inhibit teenage social skills. On the other hand, she acknowledged that technology was "the way of the future".

Yes I can see how a social networking program can inhibit your social skills.

So I am not alone in thinking the same. When I first joined I hated the interface and I still do its so counter intuitive!!

Drat! Thanks Aislinn du Preez and Paul Harris, all this talk has made me start craving for a double thick chocolate milkshake from the Friesland. Haven't had one in 12 years, so I guess it's time for a trip to slummies.
